THE 74th ACADEMY AWARDS (2002)

The 74th Academy Awards ceremony took place on March 24, 2002, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, LA. Actress Whoopi Goldberg hosted the show for the fourth time. For this big event the producers and other people in charge wanted to try something new. That's why they selected Whoopi as the host. She was able to bring a warm, humorist and humanitarian approach tho the academy awards. 

Important facts: 

• Best Actor Award: Denzel Washington, in the movie "Training Day".
• Best Actress Award: Halle Berry, in the Movie "Monster's Ball"
• Best Motion Picture: "A Beautiful Mind" – Brian Grazer, Ron Howarddouble-dagger
